Lets catch up like we never went on a loongggg break.
Did the Pandemic make you or break you?
For me, the Pandemic made me. Prior to COVID-19, I had big plans with specific targets and timelines. I had planned to hire a team to implement a project in a few states and because of the lockdowns, economic downturns, limited resources and increased insecurity in most parts of the country, I just could not achieve anything feasible. I was broken for a while because I had channeled a lot of energy into the project but I had to review my plan. Giving up was not an option-not me.
The Pandemic and all that came with it made me stronger!
Since getting ahead with the plan for 2020 was a challenge for me, I decided to spend the time researching, equipping myself with knowledge and learning new stuffs. The past year since the Pandemic, I have taken up new courses related to my present job role, acquired new skills specific to leadership and management and more importantly, taken the COVID-19 vaccine shots. In terms of lifestyle, most of the challenges I have engaged in 2020 became habits. For instance, drinking clean warm water on waking up in the mornings, meditating, managing stress and exercising. Also, I am discovering new ways of mobilising resources to meet my needs.
I think blogging about my monthly challenges has helped me to become more accountable to myself and that’s the major reason I am back to blogging. I hope you get to be part of my monthly challenges. Do let me know if you’re and if you’ll need some support to pull through.
For this month, we will be focusing on our mental health. To succeed, it is important that we are surrounded by positivity; positive vibes, positive people, relaxed stress-free environment and so on.
Let’s do this:
Spend 30 minutes each morning on meditation; sitting away from all distractions or noise, breathing slowly, relaxing without pressure and devoid of any thoughts whatsoever. Sometime can be spent thinking about all you plan to achieve for that day and writing them down.
Find reasons to laugh; watch comedies, short videos and just laugh out loud. Don’t take negatives to heart. Don’t go to bed angry. Intentionally move away from people with negative energy. Surround yourself with happy vibes.
Eat well; there’s a strong link between nutrition and mental health. Switch soda for water, don’t skip meals, dinner by 6pm, incorporate more vegetables in your meals. If you’re in Nigeria, cucumber is in season…don’t miss it.
Let’s get started.
find me on Twitter, Whatsapp or Facebook to share what part of the challenge you find interesting.
We will win together!
