JULY CHALLENGE

We made it right? And we are so thankful that we and our families are in good health. Like never before we are beginning to appreciate good health and even the little things around us like never before. The kids fart beside me, I smell it and I am thankful. Like I literally tell God. “Thank You” that I can perceive this fart. On a normal day, I would not take that rubbish kindly and it would be followed by “you should have excused yourself”. Like me, I am sure everyone just wants to be alive and see the end of the year; no targets, no goals, just breathing and living.

I am starting the month of July- and the beginning of last half of the year with thanks. Just thanks. Because I am Jayne Whyte and I love you dearly, I am sending out the Challenge for this month-July today. I have outlined three challenges already and please feel free to add to the list.

To be honest, last month, I did not do so great with reading. I started a book but could not finish because I had school books to read and my head was out of place a couple of times. I incorporated a lot of vegetables in my meals and I had my potted plants up and growing-they are doing great. I’m a plant mom!

What makes me happy is being able to influence others to do same. I got a couple of messages from friends saying they now have potted plants and home gardens and that it feels good.

For July, the challenge will focus on the theme “love” and like the previous month, we have three challenges before us and starting from today:

  1. Write a 250 words love letter to yourself.
  2. Spend 30 minutes of exercise, at least four days in a week.
  3. Reach out to three persons and provide help or support to them.

Love as the theme for this month, comes from the fact that we need to love ourselves first before we can give love to anyone. We need to constantly remind ourselves that God made us in His image and likeness and no mater the colour of our skin or the shape of our nose or the scars on our faces, He loves us unconditionally and we should unconditionally and intentionally love ourselves, take care of ourselves, put ourselves first and help others to do same.

1st Corinthians 6:19-20 says “…your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit….” and we are called to take care and honour God’s temple. Let this be your mantra for the month.

Please share what you think about this and how this has influenced you to take action. Join the challenge and I am sure you will have so much fun this month of July. May the blessings of the new month be with you and your family. Amen.

Lots of love,

One response to “JULY CHALLENGE”

  1. […] I think I am emotional at the moment and to be really honest with you, this post was not an easy write. It was emotional for me because I cannot remember the last time I loved myself and genuinely praised and thanked ‘me’. I have constantly monitored and called out my flaws and never gave ‘me’ a chance. So this challenge is therapeutic for me and I am sure it will birth something beautiful in my life and in anyone who takes this up as a challenge. Just a quick reminder that this is a follow up to the July challenge […]
