Whyte’s 4 Kitchen Tools For Every Child Friendly Kitchen

I am sure I am not alone when I say that sometimes cooking seems like the toughest job in whole world. I love cooking but having the wrong cooking or kitchen tools, even the simplest things as having the wrong type of cooking spoons or a blunt knife drives me crazy.
As wives, mothers, career women…we want the best for our families, buying the right kitchen and cooking equipment saves you much time, energy and helps you deliver the best dishes on the table.

As a starter, my 4 must-haves for every Child-friendly Kitchen are:

Pressure Cooker
Pressure cooker makes foods like meat, grains (corn) and legumes (beans) more digestible especially for children. It cooks foods quicker and saves energy. Utilizing a steamer basket in the pressure cooker enables you to cook more than one food type at a time. For instance, cooking beans and moin-moin at the same time saves you more energy and time.

Plastic Juice Squeezer
Plastic juice squeezer is handy, portable and affordable kitchen equipment. The plastic juice squeezer is easy to carry around (holiday travels), easy to maintain and the nutrients of the juice are preserved and lastly, it is easy to clean.

Graters
Grater is a useful handy tool that saves your time and effort and also helps to reduce wastage of food. It reduces to the smallest bit the size of ingredients such as; okro, carrots, cabbage, cassava and makes the food more ‘child-friendly’.

A small mortar and/or a blender
A small mortar helps to mash tubers; yams, potatoes and so on. Having a blender helps to liquidize food especially for healthy smoothies, juices. I have this small mortar that is so handy and I mash all mashables especially when I am cooking for the kids alone….no too much drama and disturbing the neighbours with kpom kpom kpom. Easy to use, wash and carry.

Another good thing about these kitchen tools is that there are inexpensive and depending on the the quality, a good one should fit into your budget. Have fun while shopping and tell me what works best for you.

Enjoy!
