I am a woman and I menstruate regularly. Sincerely speaking I don’t wear the ‘regular panties’ when I am seeing red because they won’t work. I wear some special panties they call them ‘mother care’ and they are easily available in the market and very affordable too. I thought every other female wore the same panties as I did when I was at school until one day when a teacher caned a fellow student for being late to class and before our very eyes her sanitary pad flew out of her underwear. It was a very embarrassing situation and I wished it never happened. But then I realised that not all panties are meant for that ‘period’.
I read this article and it made sense to me why girls and young women need to say “goodbye” to stains during their menstrual periods.
Entrepreneurs Miki Agrawal, Radha Agrawal, and Antonia Dunbarhave started (and successfully completed) a Kickstarter project that will revolutionize the way women think about their periods.
After raising $65,000, they have launched a new line of lingerie called Thinx that is leak and stain-resistant, anti-microbial, moisture wicking, and most importantly, DURABLE for that messy time of month. They come in different designs and will include mini heating pad inserts for cramps.
Well, I hope there will be special designs for African women, why? because we are bootylicious…..If it has to work for us, then that VIP criteria should be taken into consideration.
But I love the idea…Do you?
