I CALL BREASTS "BOOBIES"…..WHAT DO YOU CALL THEM?

It’s amazing what a pair of breasts can do, not just to the owner of the breast but to a generation of people, society and to the world. A set of breast can improve one’s self esteem…….that’s why ‘she’ goes for breast implants….heheheehe….and just looking at a set of breast can make either make a  guy drool, get a divorce or land in jail………some silly ones even get closer to the owner of the breasts and are stupid enough to ask “is this real?”……Noooo na juju…..SMH.

As a student, I travelled all the way from Abuja to Awka. It was fun but what was more fun was the bus I always travelled in. It was a owned by a popular transport company but not classy…….where you find someone or somepeople who cannot pay for a full seat, but will pay for ‘attachment’ and will buy all the “buyables”……eggs, fried meat, buns, kpekere (fried unripe plantain), bread, akara, ‘pure water’….name them!. They will pollute the air, ask the driver to stop at intervals for them to use the “bush”…….it was fun because I would have a lot of gists and stories when I arrived my destination. Something that was much fun and crazy was this particular preacher/ businessman/ comedian/ teacher……he was all in one. He would start with prayers as soon as the bus left the station, then would start asking silly questions……. whilst speaking the Ibo dialect…..to the occupants of the bus. One question that was always fascinating was “A child and the father who owns the breast?”…..I am thinking…….and asking myself….. “what kind of question is this?…… but every other person is smiling, chuckling, answering the question……..and feeling so comfy.

Anyway, it was not until I got married that I got the answer to that question………..If you are interested in knowing what my answer is ………that you will at the end of this post.

At Ante-natal visits, the nurses explains to the expecting mothers, the importance of breast feeding and how to prepare the breasts for breast feeding. In my own case, I prepared very very well but when the baby came…geh geh…nothing nothing…I drank palm wine….nothing, I drank pap…..nothing, I drank stout…..no show, it was not until…..I calmed down….that I was able to breast feed the baby. I had vowed I was going to breast feed because a friend had told me…..listen carefully….that the reason why children jump windows, don’t listen to their parents when they are told to do so and are always fighting is because their mothers gave them ‘cow bell‘ milk. And so for the fear of all  those “animalistic behaviours” I decided to breast feed by fire by force!. Luckily for me, my first child had a good time sucking……that is, until ‘it’ fell….but the second didn’t….he just didn’t like milk…..but he his absolutely perfect and doing well…..normal at his age.

Breastfeeding has a lot of positives for both mothers and their babies…so much…surprisingly, for wives and their husbands too…..so so much!.

This week, is the World’s Breastfeeding Week, and so I will be sharing a whole lot about breastfeeding…..what’s hot and what’s not…….please stay tuned!.

  5. Let's call them what they are: breasts! Not only do they give shape to we females, adding glam to the total package and in the process captivating the men…they nourish our children and also serve as a their cushion/ pillow (the men also enjoy this. The good thing about them is that size doesn't matter – whether you're breastfeeding or wearing a strapless number – so ladies, carry those brests with confidence! Happy breast-feeding week!
