Jada has recently teamed up with “Don’t sell bodies” Campaign to raise awareness on the exploitation and sex trafficking of women and children all over the world, which I think is amazing. Her daughter, Willow (after watching the movie, Kony 2012…….I would love to watch it……the film opened her eyes to childhood sex trafficking) was the one who inspired her to fight for the cause.
Willow told Jada she wanted to do something about it, and—after doing her own research into the issue—Jada herself was impossibly moved by these women’s stories, and has since vowed to do what she could to help. Also on board on the campaign is Salma Hayek, the two have collaborated on a music video……..which I would love to watch, Salma directed and which stars Jada.
I get happy and really excited when I hear people doing amazing things like saving lives…..not just their’s but that of other people…..and sometimes even those that are yet unborn. And we must recognise the fact that one must not be recognised as a ‘Celebrity’….with soooo (I really want to emphasize this) much money, before saving lives.
I must confessed that there are so many issues in our society today, and sometimes we just need someone to talk about……..initiate a public consciousness…….make people think strongly about a particular issue and before you know……..things change……positively. Issues like child molestation, sex trafficking, rape, gender violence, maternal mortality and so on.
Some thing to think about.
I am a mother, and if I take a young girl of about 10 years from her mother’s side to live with me in the city and make her take care of child/children and do the chores…..I am a child trafficker and I should be jailed, according to the law.
Until when we start to recognise some of these issues in our society and do something, Until then………..the society is ours.
