JayneWhyte: Good morning, Aunty
School Teacher: “Aaaah Good morning Madam, Welcome ooh!”….. (in her usual happy self).
JayneWhyte: Isy is a big boy now oo and i would like to inform you that i have started potty training him (Isy is my son, it has been difficult trying to potty train him and i was ready to give it my all this time).
School Teacher: eeeeehhh okay then, that is good o,
JayneWhyte: I guess he should be the only one using the potty in this class, right?(feeling like a proud mother)
School Teacher: …em madam, he is the only one that has not started using the potty oooo, thank God for this decision. Please remember to always put an extra pant in his school bag.
JayneWhyte: (pointing to another child, i asked) Is that boy still wearing diapers?
School Teacher: No. He stopped a long time ago.

That thing called shame crept into my skin. and I looked at my boy and spoke to him using my eyes (like I do when he offends me). No more diaper for you again and this time if you think your beautiful mother ( shaking my hair like I am advertising a shampoo) is ‘jonsing’ try me!, and his eyes said “mum, my teacher is not telling the truth”!.lol

Potty training a child is a challenging issue when raising up kids, I once met a woman who told me she starts potty training when the baby is four months old, eeeeh! I weep for the baby oooh. Sometimes I just pray for the child to just feel uncomfortable wearing diaper and gradually will want to use the potty. I guess that is why I have delayed that of Isy and now at 28months he still has diapers tied around his waist like a sumo wrestler.

Anyway, I am thinking I might have to trade something with Isy, he gives me his unused diaper and I give him……………his food, always and at the right time

lets see how it goes.
