IT’S OCTOBER PEEPS!

Such a beautiful week!

It was more than just a pleasant month of September. I met all my personal and financial goals for that quarter. How about you? What did you achieve? Was September a well spent month for you? What do you plan to do differently in October?

The challenges for September were very helpful in maintaining my lifestyle and most of all, my mental health. I was constantly on the edge in the first two weeks of the month because I had a lot of meetings with my team especially around creating new vibes for the smart life planners and printing additional copies of the children’s book. The bulk of my work as a stationary entrepreneur is around printing and that takes a lot of energy from me because for me and my team, quality is not an option. Currently, we certainly have the best hands to work on our 2022 Smart Life Planners. Preorders will open from October 18, 2021. Watch out!

In September, our challenge revolved around financial management and that was quite helpful for me as I was “temporarily out of service” financially. I had to pause to reposition my bank account. I could only spend what I had budgeted for and to be very honest, it was quite an experience and so I’ll be taking up this challenge in October. To sustain the momentum and strengthen my resolve, I watched Arese Ugwu’s Smart Money Woman on Netflix. I had read and reviewed the book in the past and was eager to watch some of my favourite actors act the book. Please do find time to watch the movie even though you may have read the book. The movie gives a human face to the book and life’s challenges specific to finances and also on……. Love.

This month of October, we will focus on getting out of our comfort zones. What does this mean? Getting out of your comfort zones simply means doing things that you don’t feel comfortable doing. We will be doing things that we would not normally do but that is good for us, our career, our health and others that we really care about. Just like Mo Abudu says “If you can think it, you can do it”. We will draw up lists that we would like to accomplish and make sure we tick the boxes at the end of the month. Are you set?

Ready… to meet new people?

First challenge is to meet someone new for the first time. This is huge right? As an introvert, I really don’t like to meet people. I love people but the meeting is always hard for me. We are going to challenge ourselves to meet new people. It could be a colleague you have been wanting to engage with, or a new client you would want to know more, or someone you admire from afar. Identify the person, send a brief invitation, meet over tea or lunch and tick the box. Let’s create a memory!

Second challenge is to live a $1 day. This means that we get to choose a day and our budget for that entire day is $1 only. You don’t get to spend anything above $1. This is important because it allows us to reflect on poverty and how a large percentage of humans live in poverty and are unable to afford basic human needs. Let’s see poverty from their eyes!

Third challenge is to have a #nocarbsday but a #strictvegetarianday. We will be having a whole day of just vegetables and fruits. Meat, fish or carbohydrates are not allowed. The period of the fast will be from 7am to 10pm of same day. Let’s see what a strict vegetarian is like! This is definitely out of my comfort zone.

Are you motivated to start this journey with me? What are your fears? Do you have ideas on challenges that we could include on our list? I look forward to receiving feedbacks from you.

Cheers!
