AUGUST CHALLENGE

Phew! Its the eight month into 2020 and I am like “hey peeps, take a deep breath”. ‘Take a deep breath’ is like my favourite four words when I am facing difficulty or I am really upset or when I am counselling someone and to be honest, it works for me and for some people as well. Do try it and let me know if it works for you as well. This morning, I took a deep breathe and told God “lead me on”. I remember just before the new year, I announced that my theme for the year 2020 as “Chinedumije” which means “God will lead/guide me on this journey” and well, He has and still with me on this journey. So far, 2020 has been a tough, long and amazing and, we can’t but be grateful to Him who has made all things possible and beautiful.

July got me mushy mushy with myself. I wrote a love letter to myself, I encouraged and supported family members and friends and I did some exercising too. I felt healthy, empowered, loved, inspired and enough. It was quite an interesting month for me and my family as well. I visited and gave my parents hugs after a long time. It was a much needed hug. I miss our normal and I can’t get used to the ‘new’ normal. I miss family time!

The challenge for August will be easy peasy. This month, I will be taking on the exercising and ‘self care’ and hopefully, will do a lot of reading this month in addition to the list below. Let’s do this:

  1. Do a 3-day detox (any three days in the month)
  2. Have lunch with a friend and just laugh it out
  3. Do a one-minute video and talk about 3 types of foods you love to eat.

This month, we are encouraged to just be happy! Laugh out the stress we are constantly faced with enjoy each day as it comes and just be happy. Detoxification will take out harmful toxins from our bodies and keep us healthy and strong which is still part of the self-care we have been practising for months. Look up on the internet for recipes that you can use for your detox. The one- minute video will strengthen our self esteem and help us acknowledge and affirm our self-love….please make sure it is a funny video and have fun while at it. I’ll share mine on this blog and do check in for it.

Thank you so much for joining the challenge and I am sure we emerge stronger and better at the end of the year.

Lots of love,

Jayne
