Hiya!

I think I am emotional at the moment and to be really honest with you, this post was not an easy write. It was emotional for me because I cannot remember the last time I loved myself and genuinely praised and thanked ‘me’. I have constantly monitored and called out my flaws and never gave ‘me’ a chance. So this challenge is therapeutic for me and I am sure it will birth something beautiful in my life and in anyone who takes this up as a challenge. Just a quick reminder that this is a follow up to the July challenge

Love letter to myself

Dear Jayne,

I have never told you that you are a beautiful woman. Like, I cannot remember the last time you looked at yourself in the mirror and said to yourself “God did an amazing job creating me and I am so beautiful to behold” Have you looked at yourself? You shine like the early morning sun, “Anyanwu Ututu”. You glow! your skin is silky smooth like well cleaned breadfruit, “ukwa”. I am sure anyone who want to eat you up not minding that you are human, ‘Asa nwa”. You deserve flowers thrown at feet for every step you make because you are beautiful to behold.

Jayne, you have an amazing heart. You are always willing to give without counting the cost. You’re generous, content and appreciate the little things in life despite all these, you are not afraid to dream big.

If there is anything I am crazy about, it is the way you smile. Your smile illuminates a room and reminds everyone that everything will be okay. Your inestimable smile lights my world and makes all things perfect. Your smile is everything and more and I am just lucky and blessed that you are all mine.

Madam, you’re one smart ass, bad ass tough cookie. You’re smart and intelligent and never afraid to take on opportunities. You have grown from being shy Jayne to Smart Jayne and you’re not looking back. You’re a development worker, social entrepreneur, a mom, wife and still counting. Damn! you’re a smart ass and still standing ready to take on the world..unstoppable!

Baby boo, you’re different and different scares people. No one can be compared with you. Your gait, your elegance…you have class and it shows even in humility.

I want to thank you for all the support you have given to me over the years. You never gave up on me and I am honoured to be yours. Our future is beautiful and I am excited knowing that I’ll share it wit you and only you. I promise you that no one will ever hurt you and I promise to protect you with my last breath. I promise to love you unconditionally and shower you with the love, care and support that you really need and I know that you can count on me.

I love you Jayne. I love you today, tomorrow and forever.
