The only time I leave my home to workout is on Saturdays even though my weekends are usually packed with activities. Almost all my friends I have asked to workout with me complain of “being busy” as an excuse. I have found out that it is only during my workout sessions that I am least stressed and just ‘free’. The thing is, once I put on my tights, I feel complete and happier.
I am excited that tomorrow is another workout day and I want to give you ideas on how you can find time to workout more so as a new mom.
- Plan Ahead: The secret to working out even when you have a busy schedule is planing ahead. Creating a schedule an sticking to it makes your life a whole lot easier and makes working out as important as a business appointment.
2. Get a Workout Partner/ Work out with a friend: Working out with a friend or a Partner, maximises the benefits of working out. It gives you time to spend with your friends and quality time to bond. In some cases, you will actually achieve more results when you do more work outs together.
3. Have your workout clothes ready to go: Another tip is to have your workout clothes with you ready to go. Do change into your workout clothes at work and go to the gym after work. If you go home and spend more than 15 minutes at home, chances are that you will change your mind and won’t make it to the gym.
4. Make it easy to start: If you are able to squeeze 25-30 minutes and for just 3 times a week chances are that, once you start, you’ll start loving it and leaving the office or your bed to workout will be pretty easy.
5. See workouts a lifestyle: Exercise can reduce the risk of anxiety and unnecessary stress. It gives you energy, self confidence and more importantly self esteem. If you see exercise more as a lifestyle than a weight loss regime, chances are that you’ll be eager to workout and more likelihood of working out for a longer time.
When it comes to exercising, I think that what is most important is to do your best and commit to exercising from time to time.
Cheers!
