HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

I marked my birthday last week and it was so much fun. I did not plan anything because I had a very busy week all through but things just happened and it was perfect and much more that I could ask for. Birthdays are not just to celebrate but to remind ourselves of God’s unfailing love for us and how much God is willing to do for us only if we believe in him and trust him.
I have worked my ass off the past year and so having a little bit of fun and relaxation won’t harm anyone. I had two lovely cakes from the best bakers in Abuja and I just knew adding a few pounds won’t hurt too…..don’t mind me at all.
My lovely girlfriends planned a quick hangout after work and it was great. The hangout was scheduled for 5pm but trust women and their many roles. There were lots to eat, drink, gist and do. I bet if it was a weekend we would have just payed for a Hotel room, continue the gist and spend the night but for our husbands and kids…..maybe next time.
My dad did not do the usual of singing when he called that morning but I was excited to receive his phone call. From siblings, friends, colleagues messages poured on social media were very heart warming.
I and my friend Grace, a professional photographer (follow her on Instagram as @engracephotography) the day before my birthday did some birthday photoshoot and a few of the photos came out great. Its really hard to take professional pictures and really don’t know how professional models or all these “Instagram people” do what they do. To be honest, I can’t even pose for my life…..I may know how to look fresh face but make up and dolled up for a photoshoot is not my thing at all. I’ll share some photos so feel free to judge.
My prayers for the special day
Lord, let this feast of my birth be like a reminder to me of all the numerous gifts and blessings that you have given me. On this day of my birthday, I thank you for life itself.
Loving Father, I do not know what lies ahead for the rest of my life. I know you are holding my future in your loving hands. May my thoughts, words and actions be pleasing to you.
As you have promised, be with me, family, friends, colleagues. Give us your strength and grace so that we may live in your light. I ask this and all things because I am sure of your love for me and all that love you.

From your dearly beloved and repentant daughter and servant,
Jayne
