I bet these photos of malnourished children will leave you speechless but empowered to do all that you can to change the lives and health of women and children. It is clearly visible that these children are lacking important nutrients and vitamins for growth and development, they look sickly and hungry.
These photos were taken with the support of the Partnership for Advocacy in Child and Family Health project by the Civil Society for Scaling Up Nutrition in Nigeria (CS-SUNN) implementing a project in Kaduna state.
Childhood stunting affects 159 million children with negative consequences including illnesses, deaths, poor learning outcomes, poverty and diminished productivity. Reducing malnutrition will bring many benefits to children’s nutrition in the immediate term, their long term health and wellbeing, and their future productivity as vibrant adult members of the society.
