PASTA IDEAS FOR KIDS THIS NEW YEAR

My kids love pasta! Chei if they could eat pasta all day they would love it but mama would not let them. Whether spaghetti cous cous or macaroni, locally made or foreign, a bowl of pasta is a winner for every member of the family especially when it is ‘accessorised’ with all the right ‘orishirishi’; veggies, minced meats, chicken et all.
The beauty of pasta is the ability for the cook to experiment, and add condiments that are outside of the norm and present it in an attractive manner fit for kings and queens. Over the years, I have cooked pasta in so many different ways and they always turn out to be great and my kids absolutely love the variations whether it is for lunch at home or at school.
‘ll be sharing two recipes with you today and you can look up previous blog posts on pasta recipes.

Spaghetti mixed with tomatoes and garlic stew with pumpkin leaves and garnished with hard boiled eggs is a must eat this year. It tastes so good that you would never want to eat any other type of meal. it is packed with nutrients; the iron from the pumpkin leaves is a good thing, the tomatoes and garlic are also good for the body…..I tell you this is an awesome and irresistible meal….your kids will enjoy.

Just before the Christmas, I made a bowl of macaroni accompanied with minced meat and vegetable sauce and fried plantains. It was so delicious that everyone wanted an extra serving…I was excited! The minced meat was very tasty as I added lots of garlic and ginger to the sauce and the green pepper too gave it an amazing taste fit for the tasting buds.

I plan to prepare this for the kids to take to school in the new year and could substitute the macaroni for spaghetti of cous cous.

Which one  would you love to try out?
