Following the flag off and the launch of the Railway Modernisation Project by His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari in July, 2016, I wanted to be the first on the train. I had heard so much about the Nigerian Railway System, I had seen trains in Lagos (they did look crappy and weird) and adventurous me just wanted some fun and adventure…something different…a new perspective to travelling and I decided to board a train to Kaduna.
I had an AMAZING experience. As I did not know what to expect since it was my first time and so, I was anxious but determined to get to my destination but also get that real feeling…that adventure FEELING. I was early and so I had to wait for hours. The customer service at the ticketing area was fantastic. a FFIRST CLASS ticket costs only 900 Naira and I was SHOCKED.
I had to take a photo of the schedule. Just incase you plan to travel, this should help you plan better.
The waiting area is really clean and big enough to take about 150 persons.
They announced boarding and the crowd was amazing.
Climbing the stairs with the luggages was not easy task. It was really tiring. Tip: don’t carry load when travelling on a train.
The aisle is way wider than a bus or an aeroplane.
I loved the leg space.
