HOW TO INCORPORATE VEGGIES IN YOUR KIDS MEALS, NUTS IN CEREALS AND BIBLE VERSE FOR THE WEEK

Hey Everyone,
How are you doing? I trust you all are doing great. This year has gone by so fast and I cannot believe it is August already…Time does really fly. Though it has been an amazing year for me and my family I hope it has been great for you too. My kids are getting older and are no more babies and so, things have really changed for me. Less stress with house work, meal planning or thinking of what to cook.
My kids eat better and almost anything that passes the eye. They love chicken, carrots, corn, soups, pasta and sweet potatoes. They help out in the kitchen, clean up after eating and help with the dishes too and so things are easier than when they were babies.
And how I cook too…as I don’t need to mash or hide veggies. At 7 and 9 they are pretty mini adults and can chew excellently. I try as much as I can to incorporate veggies in our meals as they contain essential vitamins needed for their wellbeing and though they complain about how much veggies I make them eat, they understand the importance and eat….of course, when they know they have no choice.

Having kids help you out in the plucking and washing of vegetables can also increase their desire to eat more vegetables. The more colourful the food looks with the veggies, the more likely kids would be attracted to the meal.
Try new vegetables one at a time. It will be difficult for a child to eat a meal with 3-5 different types of vegetables at a time and so, use 1-2 vegetables at a time. For instance, some carrots and green peas or tomatoes and cucumbers and so on.

For that extra energy, incorporating nuts (if the child is not allergic to nuts) into your child’s cereal is another way of ensuring that your child has access to additional vitamins and energy. Well grinded nuts; peanuts, cashew nuts, coconut can be mixed with your baby’s breakfast cereal.

And the Bible verse for the week is from Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope”

So we all know we are in difficult and challenging times. Our economy is in recession; unemployment rates are high, brothers are killing brothers, natural disasters, terrorist attacks in so many parts of the world but our LORD is telling us not to loose Faith. He alone will give us Peace, he is our future and our Hope. Praise God!

Cheers!
