YAAYYY! LATEST IYCF COUNSELOR IN TOWN

Hey Everyone!

I hate it when I have been away for so long and then I don’t know how to start off. I have been away for a while; working, working and working. I was in Nasarawa state  and then proceeded to Uyo for the second time in less than a year for a training which to me was a bitter-sweet experience. You know how they praise people from Akwa Ibom (state in the south-southern part of Nigeria) as being good cooks……I know see am oh!

I dreamt of eating correct afang soup but all I ate were very terrible meals; tasteless, sandy and bland. The sweet part of the trip was that I made new friends, I am a certified Infant and Young Child Feeding Counselor and I sat on a mat for 5 days…..I didn’t protest. Lol.

To all those who prayed for me and encouraged me all through the training…..Thank you so much and it was worth it. #crazyaboutnutrition

How we all managed to sit on mats for a whole week is unbelievable.

Male involvement in nutrition is critical to scaling up nutrition. At the beginning of the workshop, there were men who could not say the word ‘breast’ but at the end, they just didn’t say breast but they could confidently counsel women on the importance of breastfeeding. Awesome transformation!

At the end of the workshop, I took sometime off to visit the Le Meridien. It is definitely a beautiful and fun place to hangout. I had fun!

Uyo is such a lovely place.

Cheers!
