5 DELICIOUS, NUTRITIOUS MEALS FOR KIDS

Hey everyone,
I have been wanting to tell you something special, really, really special…..Yes! kids just love me and you know why, because I can cook. Well, that’s how I roll with kids. I enjoy watching kids eat nutritious meals and enjoying the meal at the same time. Sometimes I tell myself that if I have to find another job, it will be cooking and feeding kids…..it may not be that easy but it is rewarding. And so, just incase you see a blog post on ‘school for children to eat only’ just know that my business has kicked off. Lol.
Anyway, I was going through my previous posts and it occurred to me to share food ideas for kids especially for that special child who prefers biscuits or ice cream to real food……yes some moms do have ’em.

Cooking and feeding a child takes a whole lot of wisdom and patience. The choice of food, food arrangement, colour of utensils, sitting arrangement and many more are very important for the child to successfully enjoy the meal. Some mothers will just place anything on any plate and shove it down their throat or just put it on something that looks like a table; an adult sized table. It is horrifying. Feeding a child requires patience  I must confess.
I want to share 5 basic meals that kids just love. The first on my list is a bowl of okro soup.

Okro soup is a special gift for children. That it slides swiftly down the throat easily is a reason to give thanks to God and put it on the menu list for children. Okro soup if well prepared can be eaten with about anything; mashed boiled plantain, mashed irish or sweet potatoes, rice, yam and so on. I always have a bowl of okro in my freezer as a back up plan for the family.

Number two is the avocado paste.

This is avocado that has been mashed and blending with yoghurt or milk and could act as a dip or a spread. Avocado could be spread on homemade cookies, biscuits, bread, cake (instead of icing sugar) I guess, anything spreadable and could easily replace margarine.
And a bowl of jollof rice or white rice is a huge deal.

A soft, light and fluffy bowl of rice has a way with kids. Vegetables diced into tiny pieces and soften also helps the kids to enjoy the meal. Rice is the winner, any day and any time.

And finally pasta, in whatever shape or design is a great meal for kids. Whether for school lunch packs or for eating home, macaroni or spaghetti infused with tomatoes, fish or diced poultry of meat is a fun, nutritious, delicious meal for kids.

And the fifth is a bowl of well made cous cous.
