Being a mom in this century is likened to being a super hero. Imagine this, a working mother of three (in some cases 5), has a side business, knows when the light bill is due, when the baby has to be vaccinated and when the cooking gas is likely to finish. She has to be on top of her game at work and at home and in bed and of course she has to be happy like 24/7. Cape or no cape every mom is a super hero!
And so, I have some tips and tricks that have worked and still working for me that I want to share. Most days I am usually ready for bed at 8pm some people ask “how do you do it?” Well, I run a tight schedule and when I am not travelling or out of town, I practically have back to back activities and house chores but I am never behind schedule; always on track and well, this is why:
Planning: Having a well laid out plan to achieve your goals is very important. Your plan could be a good financial plan, work or office plan, home running plan, medical check up plan, school plan or a security plan. All you need is a plan that fits all your needs and can speak to your needs and provide solutions. For instance, On my kitchen wall, I have a year planner, on the year planner, we mark birthdays, work travel days, school tests and exams (start and end dates) days, holidays and even meals. And so, that helps us as a family to be aware of what is to come and prepare towards that activity early enough. The plan could be reviewed but consciously sticking to your plan makes it easier for you and the family.
Household Machines: Investing in household electronics is one of the best decisions families could make. The thing is before these machines cam, we had human labour; people had slaves, house boy/ girls, maids and so on. Now, the slave era is over and no one wants to go through dehumanizing situations and even the trauma of loosing your children or home to total strangers. The thing is, equipping your house with a washing machine, food processor, blenders, pumping water machine, heaters just to mention a few, takes away a whole lot of stress, gives you more time to do other things and takes away all the wrinkle….one wrinkle at a time.
Family Planning (Child Spacing): This is a huge deal for me. The number of children you decide to have, the space of time for having these children and the method you decide to use to limit or space child birth is very important. For me, it is not the number of children or the sex of the child(ren) but the quality of the children and the health of the mom that matters. A woman who wants to be at the top of her career and her home has to decide and factor this into her plan. For you to be an achiever, you have to be alive and healthy.
The real deal is that YOU want to succeed. Have a plan, stick to it and make it work for you and your family.
Did I miss out on any tip? Please share what has worked for you. I am honestly waiting to learn.
