DATE NIGHT; WHEN KIDS GIVE YOU A MASSAGE

What did I expect?
Over the years, I have made several New Year resolutions and I never keep them. From eating more vegetables, fruits and exercising everyday to quitting red meat and junk food. One of my 2015 resolution is to spend more educative and fun time with Isy and Ty aka my handbags, aka Tom and Jerry, aka Sharwama and Cupcake, aka my sugaricecreamchocolateyoghurtfreshfish….lol. I call them all……don’t try me.
Anyway, we all know how difficult it is to keep new year resolutions especially when you don’t really want to move to that level…but you really need to. And then, when you tell your loved ones about it…and they act like watch dogs….and make you fulfill them….EXACTLY! I told the kids that this year I would spend more time talking, playing….bla, bla, bla with them and now, they remind me every minute.
So in January, I decided to make this resolution achievable by sitting down with them, putting up a time table and with their help, list things I would do with them. It wasn’t easy as they had their different agendas…..play ball with Isy, read a book with TY, ride scooter with Isy, bake cake with TY………but trust me, I told them I don’t have a lot of fat in my body to accommodate all the exercise and then made them decide on things we could do together as a family.

And so, we agreed on doing some key fun activities WE could all enjoy and benefit from. Things like
Watching  movies
Bake/cook together
Play games
Hold parents and children meetings
Give massages
And so it happened that yesterday, I had this severe back pain and before bedtime I told them I needed a back massage. I laid on the bed and they fought over who would start with the massage……the fight ended when I pretended to cry…and Isy started his massage with my shoulders…it wasn’t working…small fingers. Ty then took over, she gave me huge blows I thought I could never recover from…..I laughed so hard….didn’t know when tears came down to…..I think I have to take down ‘give massages’ from our list. It just didn’t work…lol
Massages is a really cool idea maybe I’ll just show them a tutorial on ‘giving your mom a massage’……that should save me some spa money!

Enjoy.
