Ladies and Gents, where will you be on the 8th of March? No where else but here…..not here on my blog but at the walk! I will be at the March Against Rape with all my friends so you better be there oh. No need for fuel (since there is fuel scarcity) just come with your legs. I will be giving out free orange scarves to some lucky people…….be there to get your own.
#MarchAgainstRape is a Peaceful Walk to be held on March 8, 2014 in Abuja from Wuse Market to Millennium Park. #MarchAgainstRape was born as a result of the increase in Rape statistics of both male and female, young and old. There is an urgent need to demand safer spaces for all and even the enforcement of suggested punishments for rapists in the Criminal Code act and Violence against Persons Prohibition Bill which will serve as a deterrent for others.
In line with this year’s International Women’s Day celebration with the theme INSPIRE CHANGE, We hope we can
1. Inspire survivors to speak out, seek justice and help
2. Inspire our legislators especially in the senate to pass the Anti Rape Bill
3. Inspire law enforcement agents to be serious when rape cases are reported
4. Inspire safer spaces for all.
