THINGS EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW BEFORE 30

Is it the hot weather, or is it something else? I can’t really place my finger on it but this morning, I woke up all sweaty and my bones were sort of ‘creaky’ and then I thought  to myself  “Are these not signs of Menopause?”. Heeeehehe  my “true” age has finally caught up with me!

Every woman has her ‘true’ age and ‘false’ age; the ‘true’ age is the one on your birth certificate and the amount of wrinkles on her hands tells you her actual age and the ‘false’ age (which I love most..don’t ask me why) is the one a woman tells everyone except herself. Now you know!

Then I looked at my Calendar, it’s about three months to my thirtieth birthday and so, it shouldn’t be Menopause just yet……maybe it’s Pre-Menopausal syndrome……Lol. And so, one of the first things I asked Google this morning was “Things every woman should know before 30” and I got some of the best tips on “must-knows”, and that I will share with everyone today.

First of all, I will soon be 30 (this is the first time I will be celebrating ’30’ and so, it is my ‘true’ age) and it seems I may be missing out on “something” in my life, I just think taking a good look at this list will tell me; Firstly, if I am on track and Secondly, If there are things I need to know before I get to 40…because they say, A fool at 40 is a fool forever….that will not be my portion in Jesus Name Amen! so let’s get started.

According to Glamour, 15 things I need to know before 30  are:

1. How to fall in love without losing yourself (7 years ago, I learnt from my sister to love with my head and not my heart and so, I’ll pass)
2. How you feel about having kids. (I feel great I must say, made me more responsible)
3. How to quit a job, break up with a man and confront a friend without ruining the friendship. (hmmm. I hope I am good on this one. With time, I have learnt that ‘this world is a small world’ and so I try as much as possible to keep relationships)
4. When to try harder and when to walk away. (still struggling with this….)
5. How to kiss in a way that communicates perfectly what you would and wouldn’t like to happen next. (Yes, sure!)
6. The names of: the secretary of state, your great-grandmother and the best tailor in town. (Not interested!)
7. How to live alone, even if you don’t like to. (Yes, I know!)
8. How to take control of your own birthday. (So many times I have tried but failed, hoping this year would be different)
9. That you can’t change the length of your calves, the width of your hips or the nature of your parents. (sure! just love them the way they are)
10. That your childhood may not have been perfect, but it’s okay. (Yes)
11. What you would and wouldn’t do for money or love. (I would never take a life for love!, mine or anyone’s)
12. That nobody gets away with smoking, drinking, doing drugs or not flossing for very long. (sure, what goes around comes around)
13. Who you can trust, who you can’t and why you shouldn’t take it personally. (I have been dealing with this for ages….still on the right track though)
14. Not to apologize for something that isn’t your fault (I apologise for everything…..my fault or not….and like they say..”for peace to reign”)
15. Why they say life begins at 30.(I’ll understand this after my birthday party……so let the parry begin! *in Jennifer’s (Funke Akindele) voice*

If you think that there are things I should know in addition to the 15 tips please let me know…drop comments!
