The fatal shooting of two health workers in Kano state and seven health workers in Nasarawa state came as a big shock to the country. Though the health Minister Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu  and the Minister of state for Health Dr. Mohammed Pate have both condemned the shooting of innocent lives, who have put their lives in the name of global health, they also condemned the violence in some states in the northern part of the country.

The Health workers were killed during the just concluded immunisation against polio. It is well known that front line health workers provide health care to those who do not have access to health centres and hospitals and they are pivotal to the overall health of a country.

May their souls rest in peace. Amen!
