The year 2012 is coming to an end and I really want to say a big thank you to all my readers and fellow bloggers. It is amazing how great the year has been and how relationships are formed within a short time. I started blogging in April, 2012 and I feel drawn into a relationship not just with fellow bloggers, but with readers all over the world and with the very, very few comments I get, I feel blessed and ‘wanting to do more’.
I would like to say “Thanks and I love you” to bloggers like Inyanmu, Myne, Naija Mum in London, BerryKiss, Atilola, Eya, Venussbay, dpearl100 and so many others who drop comments on my blog and also blogs I find interesting and educative. Thank you for inspiring me to do more and wishing you all a fruitful and prosperous New Year.
It is often challenging talking about Maternal and Child Health……sometimes boring but it is a very important issue because there are lives involved….It could even be someone really close to you… and if we need to grow and develop, as individuals and as a Nation we will need to address issues like Maternal Mortality, Child Mortality, Gender Violence and Young Peoples Sexual and Reproductive Health education and rights.
I feel blessed knowing I have information, but so many young people do not have access to the right information and this could cost them their lives and their future. Many women are dying because they are having too many children too soon and this is so sad. Young girls are getting pregnant every day and every minute a girl is raped. This makes me sad and I sometimes wish I could just snap my fingers and all the bad news would go away. This is just one of the ways I feel I could change things….writing about these issues.
I would also like to use this opportunity to receive feedbacks from my readers. Let me know if there are topics you would want me to focus on or discuss in the coming year and also expectations for the coming year.
I wish to thank every member of my family, immediate and extended…..who see me as the best even when I can’t tell my left from my right….This is what I have always wanted to do….I feel blessed knowing I am doing it, it may not be “The Perfect Blog” but I am happy!
