An eighty year old man, Mallam Uba Abdulsalam wedded a seventy year old woman, Hajiya Amina Usman on Sunday in Kano State. The couple were part of the second batch of 250 couples wedded according to the Islamic rites under the Kano state marriage sponsored scheme.
The new bridegroom, who smiled throughout the ceremony expressed delight and joy at his newly wedded wife, saying she was a comfortable companion who was given to him by Allah. He equally applauded the state government for coming up with the scheme.
Each of the couples went home with different items provided by state government such as one can of groundnut oil, three crates of eggs, bed, one carton of Spaggheti, a sewing machine, as well as a capital of N20, 000 to start a small business in an effort to make them self reliant.
For Mallam and Hajiya, I wish them good health, long life and a wonderful sex life!, and for the other states in Nigeria …..what are you waiting for?
