FAMILY PLANNING SUMMIT LONDON



The Government of Nigeria commits to increasing contraception prevalence rate to 38% by 2018 as part of Nigeria’s commitment to save 100 million lives by 2018. The Government of Nigeria will increase spending from US $3 million annually to $ 8.5 million- a total of $33.4 million on family planning services by 2018, this is an 300% increase! The Government has committed to developing complementary budgets for delivering family planning services, and to training frontline health workers. The Government of Nigeria believes that access to commodities and resources are paramount and President Jonathan will continue to play a global leadership role on this issue.
