On World Population Day, which is today (Happy World Population Day!!!) July 11, 2012, the U.K. Government and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will host the ground breaking London Summit on Family Planning. The summit calls for unprecedented international political commitment and resources to transform the lives of millions of women and girls  in the world’s poorest countries to use contraceptive information, services and supplies, without coercion or discrimination, by 2020.


On behalf of all maternal health advocates and Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights promoters, we welcome this key opportunity to promote the positive impact of comprehensive family planning services to empower women and save lives.
