Well, this is The Other side of motherhood Part Three;
After my experience with Isy’s school teacher the other day, I made Isy a promise that things were going to change and it was going to be “Fast and Furious”……..whatever that meant……things must change!. I got home that afternoon, washed the potty and it shone so much and all I wanted was for him to notice the potty, from a distance whenever he was in the ‘mood’.
Mum: Isy can you see that potty over there?
Isy: Yes!
Mum: Good!. That’s for “wee wee” and “Poo Poo”. It’s comfortable and it’s even fit for the king.
Isy: Okayyyy.
Then I embraced him, thinking “Oh well, It’s going to be just fine”.
To my amazement, things didn’t go as planned. Guess What!, He turned my centre rug into his “centre of comfort”, he found pleasure in wetting my rug. I found myself shouting and almost in tears one day.
Mum: Why don’t you want to use your potty?
Isy: No.
Mum: Ok!. Repeat, “whether the devil likes it or not I will use my Potty”
Isy: No.
Okay, we will see who buys the diaper in this house!.
He gave me that sad look.
Anyway, my dear readers, I gave my Testimony last Sunday:
Come and see the Lord is good x2
There is nothing he cannot do
Come and see the Lord is good.
He has done for me x4
What my ………. cannot do
He has done for me
What my ………..cannot do
He has done for me
Sister Whyte: Brothers and Sisters, Praise the Lord!.
Congregation: Alleluyah!
Sister Whyte: For the past two years, I have been spending so much money, so much money and I was asking God why! God why me?. Why is my own different from others…..why do I have to keep spending money…………
Congregation: Ewwwww, sorry! It is well!
Pastor: Money on what?
Sister Jayne: Money on my son………well, you see, other kids in his class had stopped wearing diaper and I found it difficult to stop him……..but my testimony today is that he has stopped wearing diaper and I have started saving my money. He uses his potty and claps for himself after doing it right.
Pastor: How old is your son?
Sister Whyte: 31
Pastor: 31 Years?
Sister Whyte: No! God Forbid. 31 Months.
Congregation: Mtschew! (Hisses)
Sister Jayne: Everybody thank God for me oh.
Congregation: (Hisses and Laughter)
Pastor: Thank you Sister Whyte, I hope you will “Sow seed” with the unspent money.
Not to my surprise, the preaching for that Sunday was on tithes and seed sowing!. All that mattered to me at that moment was Isy……….he is all grown up.
Stay Tuned for more.
