FROM TGIF TO TGISAF………….WHO HAS A STORY TO TELL?

Oh my fridays!. Guess What!…. Thank God It’s a Friday (TGIF) has somehow managed to changed to TGISAF-Thank God I survived Another Friday and thus, the beauty of Friday is beginning to wear off, things are beginning to change in the capital city of Abuja courtesy of *cough* B H……..don’t worry you will find out before the end of the gist.

On Fridays, I would love to put on an Ankara gown or an Ankara skirt and blouse  to work, look good, feel good and turn heads too but now the real deal is a pair of  jeans trousers and a blouse this is because when it is time to run I want to run the fastest.LOL

And now, most offices close by mid day (a good thing though) so, I prepare to pick the kids at school and like today, I see a crowd of parents……..not drivers, not maids…..PARENTS!, standing at the gate before it was opened. Hmmmmm, the fear of BH is the beginning of wisdom. Anyway,  they succeed in picking their kid(s) and drive straight home hoping they get to their houses before the start of ‘prayers’………… You need to see the cars racing………funny sight!.

I used to like friday evenings, I love to hang out with my boo, enjoy the music and eat my usual Isiewu and Nkobi…..The thought of it makes me salivate…..and talk, chat and laugh. Well, it is all in the past now because “where two or three are gathered, BH might be in their midst. And imagine God asking me “what were you doing at Anty Eliza’s Hot Spot?”, I would answer “Isiewu and Nkwobi”……..Nooooo not me!, I would rather stay at home and watch T.V.

Basically, we all live in fear now and getting very conscious of our neighbours, people, places and even what we eat. Imagine , the other day, I got a text message saying “do not eat suya……………”, I guess you got that text message too I don’t need to go any further, then I said bye bye Yahooooza, till further notice. It sounds very funny but, why must we go through all these?, become strangers in our own land?

I would really love to hear from you. How has BH affected you?, Please share.

  2. Thanks so much Marie. Yeah that's life in Abuja and I can imagine what Kaduna and Jos will be like. A woman buys some dry fish, gives some to her dog, and the dog refuses to eat, she forces him to eat and he eats it and dies afterwards……that's what I can imagine…in my head.TGISAF that's what it will be till…..
