INTEGRATING HEALTH SERVICES……..for the lives of mothers

There is growing interest within the global health community in the potential public health impact of integrating different health services into a single delivery setting.  Integrating programs for HIV, family planning (FP), and maternal, neonatal, and child health (MNCH) would address patients’ multiple needs at once, and may enhance program effectiveness and efficiency.

Integration will help a mother who is HIV positive and needs Family Planning commodities to achieve good health, she can easily access her drugs and needs all at once. It is not challenging or difficult for her to reach her essential needs rather it is easier and she will live longer.

Another instance is a mother, who just had a baby and wants to plan her family and needs Family Planning commodities, with integration, it will be really easy for her to receive maternal care and also family planning commodities thereby reducing maternal deaths in Nigeria.
