HAVE YOU EVER HEARD THIS?……..DO NOT IGNORE!

Have you ever been in this situation?, you prepare for church and when you get to the church venue, you find out that you forgot your wallet and then you remember that you actually thought about collecting your wallet but you totally forgot about it. In another situation, you wake up in the morning and something tells you “say your prayers” and your BlackBerry phone rings, its a chat and you begin to respond and before you mention “Jack Robinson”, the time is 12 noon and you haven’t said ‘good morning’ to the lord.

I have been in all these situations and to my surprise, they were followed by regrets. I wish I had listened to that “quiet voice” that reminded me about my wallet….. but I shrugged it off…I guess I did it so fast and I forgot it. and the same quiet voice that told me to “talk to God” before talking to my friends….who cared less about me.

The Holy Spirit is that quiet voice that talks to us when we are so busy…..really busy. I heard from a reliable source that the pastors that died on the ill fated plane crash, were “pre- informed” by the Holy Spirit but they chose to ignore the “whispers”. A member of the church told his pastors that Sunday morning, that he had a bad dream that threw the entire church into mourning. The pastor commanded the entire church to pray about it, but that same afternoon, the pastors boarded the flight that threw the entire church into mourning. How sad!.

The other pastor, was a young man whose wife was reluctant letting him go, he left for the airport eventually and on the way, the car tire burst and he asked the driver to change it, they did and they got to the airport safely. When he got there, he noticed he had forgot his drivers licence, he sent the  driver to get it from his house, the driver did and he successfully boarded the plane that led to his early death.

Most times, we fail to listen to that quiet whisper, that loving voice, the Holy Spirit saying “Take it easy”, ” Be patient”, “Pray”. We want to hear a loud, honey coated, really, really nice catchy voice or hear from a ‘Seer’, ‘Prophet’ or even a ‘Spiritualist’ before we believe. The Bible has made us to know that the Holy Spirit is with us (John16, 1-15). The Holy Spirit is eternal, Omnipotent and Omniscience, has a will, is alive and well, he is a person. The Holy Spirit does these and many more.

Interprets Scripture – 1 Cor 2:1,14Eph 1:17
Intercedes -8:17
Inspires prayer – Eph 6 : 18; Jude 20.

The Holy Spirit talks to us in different ways, I bet only if we listen….. I have succeeded in getting rid of loud music and even people. I want to be able to hear from the Holy Spirit at all times, because in his words I feel safest at all times
