To lose a loved one, is a very painful experience. This morning, as I listened to the jingle on the radio, it said “Dana Airline, the smartest way to fly”, I felt a very sharp pain on my chest and I said to myself “Is it, really, then why did the plane crash yesterday?, if the passengers (may their souls rest in peace) knew the plane was going to crash, then they would have preferred to be called fools and followed other airlines”, as tears filled my eyes.
Yesterday, more than 153 lives were lost as a result of the Dana Airline plane crash, these included families, husbands and fathers, mothers and wives and children. I lost a colleague, who I admired, her passion for her work, her love for her family and her humility. She had a beautiful heart.
“Amaka” like her name, had a beautiful heart. She was very hard working and she loved her job. On Friday, 1st of June, 2012, Amaka left the office late because she had to clear her work table, she had planned to travel with her baby (A baby that came years after her marriage) in the company of her sister, to Lagos to see her mother and also attend a training. She had prepared really hard and was excited.
Amaka was in the flight 9J-992 that crashed in Iju area of Lagos state. Amaka died a painful death, and if wishes were horses, I would definitely wish the plane never crashed and I would see Amaka and Christopher Ojugbana again.
